PIC Lines and Purple Mattresses

Machi Koro family game time.

Netflix and brownies, these boys have never had so many
sweets and TV in their life! Unless of course, they're with
grandparents or Aunt Nicole!! 😂

Zach and the boys came over yesterday during the day. They made me fresh hot brownies, YUM! and we played a game, Machi Koro. The boys love that game. We didn't quite finish, I got tired, the boys wanted to watch a movie. We thought we would watch a family movie, but in the end, I knew the boys wouldn't mind if they just got to sit together and watch whatever cartoon they wanted while Zach and I sat together. I hadn't seen him all day and I just wanted to be close. We didn't really need to talk or do anything. I just wanted him near me.

He makes me feel safe.

Zach massaged my neck. My neck is extremely tight. It's the bed. Or the fact that I've been sleeping with all these wires on me. Or, I suppose it could be a little bit of the situation.

Zach's been talking non-stop about the Purple mattress. He really wants one. I wonder if he's bringing this all up now that I'm in a lousy bed and feeling it, and thinks he can talk me into a new mattress. Well, I think it's working.

Ok, buy the mattress. When I get home, I want a nice cozy bed. (guess he has to read my blog to know I approve. HA)

The Pic line all in place. This is what I'll have until I'm done with
treatment. They can draw blood. They can do any IV stuff including
the chemo that we should be starting tomorrow.

Got my PIC line tonight. So glad that didn't happen till 6:30pm. It gave me the whole day feeling not like a hospital patient.

It was an intense process.

It felt like I was in surgery. Blue gown. I was completely draped. No one else in the room. It was scary.

Deep Deep Breathes.

And then it was done. Just like that. Barely a sting.

The Pic Line pre x-ray to ensure it went to my heart and not
my neck. Yes, really.
