Nine days in....

Saturday
Day 9 in the hospital
Day 4 of IV chemo

I don't even know anymore. Day 4, day 5? How do you even calculate. I started my 24 hour IV Chemo around 9pm on the first day (Tuesday), 10:30pm (Wednesday), 12am (Thursday), 2:30am (Saturday). So, 4 down, 3 to go.

The doctor is still hopeful that I'll be able to go home a week after my chemo is finished. That will put me home on September 20. 20 days in the hospital. But, it all depends on what the FISH studies or something like that say and how my next bone marrow biopsy goes and probably my daily blood levels.

Today feels like 9 days in the hospital. I'm just feeling BLAH. I've had lots of visitors and gifts and food and so much love is felt here, don't get me wrong. I feel all the love! But, I just wish I could be in my own bed, in my own house, using my own shower, sleeping with my husband every night. Nine days is a long time to be in the hospital.

I feel like I look gross. Showers are practically impossible. I'm just trying to stick to washing my face and brushing my teeth.

Today, I'm just going to relax. Maybe watch a movie. Read a book. Take a nap.

  1. Tonight will be day 5...day 1 is ALWAYS the day you start...each cycle of treatment has a day 1, the cycle # just changes...too bad you can't at least get someone to wash your hair for you...that would make you feel tons better! Dry shampoo works good too!! Love the updates!! Hang tough girl! You are loved by so many...you know what your grandpa always said to people is crisis..."look in the mirror and remind yourself you are one tough son-a-bitch!"

  3. Hi Michelle. You are stronger than you know. Chemo is very hard; I used to think of it as little warriors racing thru my blood cells battling the bad cancer cells that were trying to kill me. Cancer only goes after the best looking, smartest, and kindest people. Let's not let it win!
