Stupid Blood

Thursday
Day 21 in the hospital
Day 9 post chemo

Biopsy day (Tuesday) was crazy. I had to wait until platelets came and they hooked me up, hung them on my bed and wheeled me down to CT for the biopsy. It was quite the mad rush. I was glad to just get it done and over with though and not to have to wait until the next day.

Zach's new office. He's so good about just sitting with me everyday while the boys are at school. Our new routine is he drops the boys off, gets his work stuff together and anything I might need, drives over to the hospital and spends the day with me. He leaves in time to pick up the boys from school and do dinner at home with them. Then he'll come back and tuck me in after they go to bed. Somedays he'll bring the boys over here, but daily visits are usually too much for them (and me -- it can get chaotic).

To get me home I need a good biopsy + steady blood numbers. I can't be reliant on transfusions, so I just want my numbers to go UP UP UP! The magic numbers are 7 (hemoglobin) + 15 (platelets). Anything less than that I need a transfusion. Yesterday my numbers looked so promising. Today, while I don't need a transfusion, they still dropped. Which is frustrating!
